Celebrating two decades of biotechnology in Nepal
The conference, set to take place later this year, will bring together experts from various fields in biotechnology to discuss and exchange ideas on emerging trends and research findings in the industry.
Dipjyoti, a renowned researcher and academician with over 20 years of experience in Life Sciences, is currently focused on increasing drought and salinity tolerance in crop legumes. He has a Ph.D. in Medicinal plants-micropropagation and has completed two post-docs in secondary metabolite pathway elucidation and plant diseases proteomics. Dipjyoti is the Head of the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology and Dean of Research and Development at Banasthali Vidyapith. He has published over 50 high-impact research papers and has successfully implemented several institutional and individual projects. Dipjyoti is also involved in mentoring agri-entrepreneurial ventures and Startups, and has been instrumental in developing an innovation ecosystem at the Vidyapith. He is leading a group of researchers to explore emerging areas like artificial intelligence, drug discovery and development, and cancer biology, with a focus on socially relevant, trans-disciplinary, innovative research.
The organizers of the First National Biotechnology Conference 2023 expressed excitement in having Prof. Dr. Dipjyoti Chakraborty as one of their speakers, saying that his expertise and experience in the field would add value to the conference.
