About Me
Bishesh Khanal is a co-founder, Executive Director, and Research Scientist at NAAMII, a non-profit research institute in Nepal. He has more than 12 years of experience and more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Vision, Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Signals, and AI applications. After completing his Masters in Computer Vision and PhD from INRIA, France and a Post-doctoral research at King’s College London and Imperial College London UK, he moved back to Nepal. His research group at NAAMII, Transforming Global health with AI (TOGAI) aims to identify and solve difficult but important problems in global health where Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play an important role. He believes that the advancement in computational science and AI has provided a unique opportunity for resource-constrained countries to explore exciting avenues of research using some computers and quality manpower, effectively democratizing innovation in biomedicine.
