Celebrating two decades of biotechnology in Nepal
The conference, set to take place later this year, will bring together experts from various fields in biotechnology to discuss and exchange ideas on emerging trends and research findings in the industry.
Mr. Ramesh Basnet, Senior Research Officer at the Department of Plant Resources/DPR under Ministry of Forests and Environment Nepal, has 19 years of experience in Wetland Flora Documentation, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants/MAPs Good Agriculture and Collection Practices/GACP and Extension. He has completed the 59th UNEP/UNESCO/BMU International Short Course on Environment Management and has visited different Herbariums of Japan, India, and China. Mr. Basnet has written over 30 popular articles in Nepali language linking plant knowledge and access benefit sharing issues to local communities. Recently, he was awarded as one of the best researchers by DPR on Plant Resources Day, April 12, 2023.
The organizers of the First National Biotechnology Conference 2023 expressed excitement in having Ramesh Basnet as one of their speakers, saying that his expertise and experience in the field would add value to the conference.
