About Me

Prof. Dr. Krishna Das Manandhar is a Nepali national and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow. He was born on April 5, 1964. He is currently serving as a Professor and Head of the Central Department of Biotechnology at Tribhuvan University in Nepal.

Prof. Manandhar has a Ph.D. in Zoology with a specialization in Leishmaniasis from Banaras Hindu University, India. He also completed a Postdoctoral research program on Dengue virus at La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology, USA, and another on Leishmaniasis at Institute de Researche pour la Development (IRD), France. Additionally, he completed a WHO-TDR Advanced course on Immunology, Vaccinology & Biotechnology of infectious diseases at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

His research interests include Immunology, Diagnosis, Molecular biology and Biotechnology applied to tropical infectious and viral diseases. He has also served as the Head of the Central Department of Biotechnology at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and as a Lecturer/Assistant at Padmakanya Multiple Campus in Bagbazar.

Prof. Manandhar has received various Fellowship Awards, including Fulbright Senior Scholar Program for Post Doctoral Researcher-2015/16-USA, BEST Grant-2011-France, and WHO/TDR– Lausanne-2008-Switzerland. He has also been involved in many workshops, seminars, conferences, trainings, oral and poster presentations, and has ongoing research projects in collaboration with national and international institutions.
