Celebrating two decades of biotechnology in Nepal

Prof. Dr. Anjana Maharjan Singh, a renowned academician at the Nepal Academy of Science & Technology (NAST), will be one of the plenary speakers at the upcoming First National Biotechnology Conference 2023.
The conference, which aims to provide a platform for biotechnology experts to share knowledge and experiences, is set to bring together participants from various fields and backgrounds.
Prof. Dr. Anjana Maharjan Singh’s expertise in water and food microbiology, immunology and infectious diseases, and plant health, has made her a notable figure in the industry. She is a former Head of the Central Department of Microbiology at Tribhuvan University, and a Post-Doctoral researcher at the University of Virginia, USA.
Throughout her career, Dr. Singh has held several leadership positions, including Executive Member of the Nepalese Society of Microbiology, President of Filters for Families Nepal, and Associate Academician of NAST. She has also published over 131 papers, covering various topics in biotechnology.
Dr. Singh is also passionate about supporting women in science and engineering, coordinating the Women Scientists Forum Nepal (WSFN) at NAST, and working as an executive member of the Special Committee of AASSA, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE).
The organizers of the First National Biotechnology Conference 2023 expressed their excitement in having Dr. Singh as one of their plenary speakers, saying that her experience and leadership in the field would add value to the conference.
